Join our upcoming Alpha Playtest!

27 JUNE 2023

Dear friends and followers,

We are back with some major news!

Steam Page & Alpha Announcement

First, we have launched the Steam page for our incoming PvP tactical battler Skygard Arena! Check it out for more information on the game and support us by wishlisting the game!

Second, we have made significant progress in the development of the game since November 2022, when we had our first playable prototype. We have held 15 playtests with our community testers. Their feedback has been extremly helpful and we have greatly improved the game as a result. We are now ready for our Alpha playtest, which will take place through Steam between Wednesday 5 July and Sunday 16 July !

What can I expect in the Alpha?

The build you will be able to enjoy during the Alpha is the result of our first year of development of the game.

The core gameplay loop of Skygard Arena will be available in the Alpha: build your team of 5 Heroes, pick their items and spells carefully to create the best combinations, and battle in the Arena against another Tactician!

In terms of content, you will already be able to play 12 different Heroes and battle in 3 different Arenas. Over 60 items will be available to customize your Heroes and create the most powerful builds!

We have prepared a three-step tutorial to help new players get into the game. Also, to avoid overwhelming players with information and options, you will unlock progressively new Heroes and items as you play matches and progress through the game.

You will be able to play in various modes: PvP ranked, training vs. an AI, sandbox to try out new team comps, and custom games to challenge a friend!

Of course, the Alpha does not represent the final version of the game: some art assets will still be placeholder assets, the progression systems will be fairly simple, there will be no hard currency nor real money transaction inside the game. Our goal is really to test the core gameplay and see if you like it!

How can I play the Alpha?

Just go to our Steam page and click on the ‘Request access to playtest’ button to get a chance to play the Alpha.

If you are selected, you will be given access to the Alpha when it opens on Wednesday 5 July in the afternoon.

What will happen after the Alpha?

We are holding this Alpha playtest to gather as much feedback as possible on the gameplay. So please do tell us what your think on our Discord server! Who was your favorite Hero? What did you think of the pace of the matches? What would like to see inside the game? Tell us everything!

After the alpha, we will take some time to review thouroughly your feedback and the data from this 10-day playtest. This will help us decide what are the priority areas for improvement and what features to work on next.

We plan to hold a larger Beta before releasing the game officially.

We can’t wait to give you the opportunity to play!

See you soon in Skygard,

Alexandre
